Nestled in the rolling hills of southeast Kansas is the Silver Hind Lodge. 80 wooded acres gently slope toward a refreshing spring-fed lake with a cute island dotting the surface.
Catfish, bass, and crappie can be caught for a delicious fish fry.
A large covered bandstand along the shore provides a relaxing view of the lake.
A hind is a female deer and the property is thick with just such wildlife. Hence the name Silver Hind. Also, wild turkey and geese enjoy the solitude of this landlocked paradise.
Only a short 45 minute drive south of Overland Park opens up rejuvenating possiblities.

I stayed at The Silver Hind over Memorial Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it!   My husband and I felt totally secluded on the big 80 acre property. Above is a picture of the unit I stayed in and below is the amazing view from our back french doors.  Our weekend was filled with BBQing, fishing and swimming in the beautiful lake you see in the picture above. We loved it and we will definitely be staying there again!
